Lindsay & Dan were married at Saint Bridget's Church, West Kirby, and their reception was held at The Hillbark Hotel on the Wirral.

Andrea & Gareth's Wedding at Bishop Eton Church and The West Tower

Andrea & Gareth were married at the Bishop Eton Church in Liverpool and held their reception at the West Tower, Aughton, Lancashire.

For the Highlights video I used some colour grading techniques to give it a similar look to the wedding photographs.

Tony The Crooner in The Diary Room

I’ve worked with Tony a few times now, he’s a very popular wedding singer in the Liverpool area and is always great fun and a really nice guy to boot. On this occasion we were both at the West Tower in Aughton, Lancashire, for Andrea & Gareth’s Wedding Reception.

This was a first though:

Tony stayed after he had finished his set and left a special message in the Diary Room, with the Bride’s Maids as backing singers. Enjoy!

Wedding Flowers

I had to buy some flowers for my mum on Friday so I went to my local florist in Irby Village, The Flower House.

To cut a long story short I ended up buying 4 bouquets, for various people including Sarah. They made the bouquets up while I waited and each one was unique. I was really impressed with them and the price was very reasonable. While they were doing that, we were talking about weddings and I mentioned how I often see bride’s bouquet’s that look a bit dried up. Apparently this happens when they are made up a day or so before the wedding, which is quite common.

The Flower House make up all their bouquets on the morning of the wedding which ensures they look fantastic. One thing to note though, it’s best if you book your flowers at least 6 months before the wedding as they can only do one wedding per day.

Hope you enjoy this. We’ve just acquired a Canon 5D MkII and Glidetrack Dolly system, so we thought we’d use them to make a little test video. The footage from the 5D is real eye candy as you can see, and yes, we will be using these for wedding videos in the future.

James & Graham's Civil Partnership Video

James & Graham were married at Soughton Hall in North Wales (near to Chester) in a Civil Partnership ceremony in December 2009. James & Graham were a very loving couple and they had obviously put a huge amount of planning and hard work into making their big day special for all their friends and family. The first dance in particular was very unique!

One last thing, James & Graham’s photographers were the lovely Evelyne & Sue from In The Pink, they are Civil Partnership specialists and were really nice to work with on the day.

Hayley and Jonathan were married at Inglewood Manor in Cheshire in October last year. The wedding had a really nice atmosphere and many guests had come from different parts of the country to be there.

Inglewood is a great location and Hayley and Jon had also chosen a great day, as it seemed to be about the only day last year when the sun came out!

Helen & Mark's Wedding

Helen & Mark were married at the Coptic Orthodox Church of Saint Mary and Saint Mina in Stockport, and had their wedding reception at Manchester Town Hall.

This was my first Coptic wedding and it was interesting to see both the similarities and differences compared to Anglican and Roman Catholic ceremonies. Mark and Helen were lovely and they obviously had a lot of friends from around the world as there were many guests from far afield. The Reception was in the largest room at the town hall, the room was stunning as you can see in the video.

Michelle & Chris's Wedding Party

From time to time I intend to post some of Sarah’s photographs (from Wirral based Sarah McDonnell Wedding Photography). These photographs were taken at a wedding party in Rochdale.

Michelle and Chris got married in Las Vegas, but they wanted to celebrate with their friends and family back home as well, so they arranged an evening party at the BellaVista Restaurant in Rochdale. Michelle was after a mix of informal portrait and group shots, as well as reportage, I think Sarah did a great job so here is a small selection of the photographs:

Abbie & Alan were married at The Sandhole Oak Barn near Congleton in Cheshire. This is a new building, but built in a traditional manner with an oak structure. The location was very appealing with a lake next door to the barn. They are having a wedding fayre there on the 19th of May this year.

Abbie and Alan’s wedding had a really nice atmosphere which I think comes through on the video.

Hannah & Gavin were married at the Grosvenor Hotel, Pulford (near Chester). This is a fairly large hotel in a small quiet village with lovely gardens and great views. The hotel is very popular for weddings and is very well organised and set up to deal with them.

After the wedding breakfast I was able to capture some nice time-lapse footage as the sun was setting which features on both the highlights and the main wedding video.

Charlene & Paul's Wedding

Charlene & Paul were married on the 12th of September 09 at Saint Mary’s Church in Pentre Halkyn, North Wales. This is one of the most picturesque churches I have seen with spectacular views over the Dee Estuary to the Wirral and beyond to Cheshire, Liverpool and Lancashire. The vicar was a really nice guy as well, very easy to work with and very friendly.

The reception was also at a great location, Rowton Hall in Chester (Charlene had definitely done her homework). Evening entertainment included a casino and a spectacular fireworks display, stunning!

How To View The Videos

The videos on this site are hosted by a company called Vimeo. In order to view them you will need to have the Flash plugin installed in your browser, this is available form Adobe.

If your internet connection is not very fast you might find that the video stutters or keeps stopping. One solution to this is to press the play button, then press pause and let the video download for a while before pressing play again.

Another tip is not to hover the mouse over the video when it is playing as this will tend to make it stutter.

The embedded videos are all standard definition (SD), down converted form HD videos which are uploaded to Vimeo. If you press the “HD is off” button you can go to the Vimeo site to view a higher quality version of the video. The HD version is more likely to cause problems if you have a poor internet connection of course.

One last thing. The quality of online video still has some way to go before it matches DVDs, or Blu-Ray disks so please bear this in mind.

Kunle & Kenni's Wedding

Kunle and Kenni were married at the Wirral Christian Centre in Birkenhead. This is a large and newly renovated church a short walk from the centre of the town. A few years ago this church was in a dreadful state so I was amazed to see what they had done to renovate it, they have literally spent millions!

Kunle & Kenni are from Nigeria. This was my second Nigerian wedding so I had a pretty good idea what to expect and I really enjoyed the experience. In comparison to a typical UK wedding the ceremony and speeches are significantly longer and there is a great deal of dancing, including dancing down the aisle. Everybody joined in and there was a really happy atmosphere to the whole day.

Due to the length of the ceremony and speeches the resulting video is much longer. I have split it into five parts as there is a limit to the file sizes I can upload to Vimeo (the company which hosts our online videos). The Diary Room Video is password protected, Kunle and Kenni have the password.

Welcome to the blog

Hi,

We’re making some major changes to the website at the moment. The plan is to get rid of the examples page and replace it with a blog page (this page) which will include an entry for each wedding, event or corporate video job. In addition I hope to add extra posts on random topics just for fun now and again.

However, one slight problem is that until this has been up and running for a while, the amount of videos on this site will be limited. In the mean time please head over to our Vimeo Stream where you can see plenty of our previous work.

Keeley & Kenyon were married at the Cresta Court Hotel in Altrincham, Cheshire in August. Despite some dodgy weather we were able to get some really nice footage at Denzell Gardens down the road during the photo session which has been used towards the end of the highlights video.
